Hiking with Photographic Gear
In the last couple of years I came up with a list of gear, necessary to make photographic hiking trips in the late spring, summer and fall into the nearby Swiss Alps.
The list of pieces of equipment does not include only photographic gear, but other necessary items to, feel comfortable when hiking, resting and setting up a bivouac for the night.
It’s a striped down list since you have to keep equipment and it’s weight at a minimum. You carry all of it on your shoulders.Photographers are at a disadvantage, since we do carry several pounds or kilos of strictly photographic kit on top of all the other stuff needed. To be on the safe side you need to carry spare clothing, rain jacket etc. as well as your stuff to make camp.
I love to sleep under the night sky, no tent, it just adds weight anyway.
I will work on the list and the description as time goes by and I add or subtract individual items from this list.
